Somewhere between visual merchandising and private interior design services, lies a niche for someone who sees the potential in every space. Part stylist, part coach, I find that I am the most happy when I can simplify the complicated and help others, especially women, create spaces they want to live, work and play in. And now, as a mom, I am inspired by schools of thought that address the environments in which children thrive and learn in, and that those environments can be created at home, starting right from the beginning.
My favorite things include peonies : flea markets : barefeet : white peaches : lillet with lime : dancing : making things : pigmy goats : mac & cheese : onsen in japan : retreats in silence : domino magazine : salted caramels : organized drawers : christmastime : bali : my red cowboy boots and holding my baby's hand while he sleeps.
My least favorite things include indifference : cooked carrots : cruelty : superfluous talk : insincerity : waste : grocery shopping : ambivalence : busy websites : teasing : clutter : horror movies and unloading the dishwasher.
Education/Thesis
I hold a BA in Communication with a Minor in Women's Studies from the University of San Francisco.
In 2005, I completed a Master's Degree in Holistic Health Education at John F. Kennedy University. My graduate thesis, titled Living Environment: An Integrated Approach to Environmental Awareness to Help Maintain Personal Wellbeing explored the relationship between personal health and the built environment through a comparison of the Eastern practices of Feng Shui and Vastu.
My design training is primarily self-taught, though it is scattered with several college level Intro classes including Textile Design, Space Planning and Interior Design Basics.
Work
My design and consulting work spans both the wellness and retail industries. My merchandising work includes projects with Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, Z Gallerie + Tommy Hilfiger.
